Drambuie
Liqueur
The Isle of skye liqueur
The story of Drambuie began in 1745 when it arrived on British shores under the guardianship of its original custodian, Prince Charles Edward Stuart (known as Bonnie Prince Charlie). It was the Prince’s personal draft, and he drank a few drops each day for strength and vitality.
Having suffered defeat and being pursued by the King’s men, the Prince fled to The Isle of Skye. After a period of exile on the island his pursuers caught up with him and his fate lay with the Clan MacKinnon who bravely helped the Prince escape the British Isles for good. In thanks for his unwavering loyalty the Prince gave John MacKinnon, the clan leader, the secret recipe to his personal liqueur, a gift that the Clan were to treasure down the generations.
The exact recipe for Drambuie has been a closely guarded secret since it was brought to Scotland in 1745. The process by which it is made has remained largely unchanged over the years and remains a secret known only to a few in the company to this day. Herbs, spices and Scottish heather honey are carefully measured and blended by hand to that original recipe.

Drambuie
Drambuie is a bright, deep golden colour, with the aromas of aged malt whisky combined with a mix of floral and herbal overtones and rich honey. The flavour provides a kaleidoscope taste sensation, a complex arrangement of herbal, spicy, sweet and honey notes. It’s voluptuous, mellifluous and full bodied.
